The definitions of dissolve and dissolver

Dissolve

If a substance dissolves in liquid or if you dissolve it, it becomes mixed with the liquid and disappears. Dissolve is usually used to describe dissolving solids in liquids. The liquid with the dissolved substance is called solution.

Dissolve is the first step of many processes in vacuum mixers. Take cosmetic cream making machine for example, you need to dissolve the solid ingredients into water phase. You put the water in the boiler tank and start heating the water.

After that you add solids in the hot water. Generally a disperser or stirrer/agitator is mounted in the boiler tanks which helps dissolve the solids quickly.

Melt is another term which can be confused with dissolve. When a solid substance melts or when you melt it, it changes to a liquid, usually because it has been heated. Dissolve happens in two or more substances and melt happens on one substance only.

Dissolver

Dissolver is a dissolving machine for dissolving one substance in liquids. Most dissolving happens naturally. But there’re two ways to speed up dissolving. First method is to heat the solvent to increase heat transfer. Second method is to use a dissolver.

The most popular dissolvers include dispersers and agitators/stirrers. With the toothed disc, the high speed dispersers break the solids and make them quickly dissolve in the liquid. Agitators have very similar dissolving functions with gentle low shear force.

Dissolver also refers to the liquid substance which is capacity of dissolving other substances. Here dissolver has the same meaning of solvent. Dissolver doesn’t change its state in forming a solution.
