Process equipment and its uses

June 10, 2013

Process equipment is certain types of apparatus that is used in the processing or creation of materials, substances or products. Many types of industries use several kinds of processing equipment when developing their products. Some of the main industries who have process equipment are: dairy, food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, hygienic, packing and storage, processing, chemical, brewery, confectionary and bakery, paint and ink, agricultural, animal feed, pet food, aquatic feed, biomass & bio-fuels, waste management & recycling, the list is endless. In this article we will see how the meaning of process equipment varies depending on the industry involved. Generally speaking it means a collection of different machines that are used to make a product.

As you can see by these vast examples there are many many types of process equipment for many industries but the one thing I haven’t covered above is the main example of when process equipment doesn’t relate directly to a piece of machinery that creates a physical product. This is data processing equipment. Computers, ancillary equipment, software, firmware and various services all fall under the category of data process equipment.
